Sex and the City: The Movie

I’ve been a huge fan of the TV show Sex and the City for the past few years. And I mean the true HBO version, not the re-runs on TBS or anything. I fell in love with the show just after watching the first few episodes and I was ecstatic when I found out they were making a movie!! So I had very high expectations for the movie, and I definitely was not disappointed! I ended up seeing it in theaters three times!
Right away, the movie starts with a very short recap of the seasons and the way they did it was incredible. It wasn’t too long; it really just highlighted the main parts. It showed chapters from books she’d written in the past few years and clips from the old episodes. It was really creative and the music was girly and sexy and the background was black and pink and glamorous. It fit the show perfectly.
The movie covered everything and had so many twists and turns and you really didn’t know what was going to happen in the end. Each character was back with their own story line: Carrie is still with Big and searching for an apartment, Miranda is trying to handle her life as a mother, wife and lawyer, Samantha is off in L.A. with Smith, and Charlotte is happy with her husband and adopted daughter. But things don’t necessarily stay great for all of them throughout the movie. Carrie’s search for an apartment leads to hopes of marriage, which may not end up being exactly what she thought it would be. Miranda gets some disturbing news from Steve, and Samantha is not exactly happy with her new life away from all of her friends. Charlotte, on the other hand, is in marital bliss and finds herself getting even more good news during the movie!
I loved the other guest appearances of the minor characters from the show such as Carrie’s best friend Stanford Blatch, Charlotte’s friend and wedding planner Anthony Marentino, and Vogue editor Enid Frick. I also adored Jennifer Hudson as a new character and thought she and Carrie had great chemistry! And let me just say that I LOVED Carrie’s hair when she dyed it dark brown!! It looked fabulous on her!
The movie made me cry just as often as it made me laugh and I really wouldn’t have changed a thing about it. It kept its wit and humor and drama and stayed true to the TV show. It was great to see the group back together and still looking fabulous in their designer clothes and having the amazing chemistry on the big screen just as they did on the show!

I haven't had the chance to see Sex and the City, the movie yet, but I really want to. I have heard a lot of good things about it. I haven’t been a huge fan of the show, but I like it enough to rent the movie. Maybe I will rent it some week end when I am just hanging out with the girls, although it may be fun to force a couple of guys to watch it too.

I loved this movie too. I didn't watch Sex and the City normally but decided to see this movie. It was easy to follow with not having a huge background the show. I even saw it twice because I made my mom go with me and see it.
