The Office: Crime Aid

This episode crammed a LOT of information into only 2o minutes, I couldn't believe it! There were so many things going on, and it still kept its humor. This episode also showed what I love most about this show: it's ability to mix genuine emotional moments with some of the sharpest, wittiest comedy on TV. I will recap the episode for those of you who missed it, but be warned, it will take awhile for me to recap everything. And if you've already seen the episode, scroll down and read my favorite moments and find out what I'm looking forward to for the next episode!

This episode starts with Pam working at Corporate in New York! She was running low on money and instead of selling a kidney she decided to let Michael get her a job. Michael calls her all the time because he now has a number to reach her and it is actually kind of sweet. He of course is annoying and calls her “Paaaamelaaaaaaa” over and over again, but he tells her how much he misses her too!

In the beginning of the episode, Jim gets an accidental call from Pam in the middle of the night while she is out partying with her friends in New York. While he’s listening to it he turns to the camera and smiles while saying, “The future mother of my children.” It is a very cute moment and I love that he talks about having kids with her! I was glad that he wasn’t weird and jealous at that point, he seemed happy for her that she was making friends and you could tell that he thought she was still the cutest thing in the world.

The main storyline in this episode is definitely the Michael and Holly and I loved to see how happy they are together! There is a very cute opening scene of him asking her when she can go out with him again and she tells him very eagerly that she is free that night. They share some cute little moments and then we see Michael telling the camera that this will be their third date and that usually the third date is when he has sex. They talk about what they are going to do on their date and decide to go to the mall and eat at the food court. When talking about what they are going to get to eat, Michael says that a lot of it depends on if they have sex or not. He laughs awkwardly and asks Holly if she thinks they will have sex that night. For a second you can’t tell what Holly is thinking; I was afraid that she was going to find it really inappropriate that he asked her, but then she suddenly answers “hell yea.” It was a great moment and it made me so happy for Michael! When they leave work late that night, they are headed out to the parking lot when Holly says she forgot her keys inside. When they go back in to get them, the camera crew stays outside, leaving them alone inside. It was all part of Holly’s plan because as they go back inside she locks the door behind them and gives the camera a very excited and mischievous grin. She then pulls Michael into the stairwell and they go to turn their microphones off so the cameras can’t hear them but Michael, not being the smartest person in the world, turns it up all the way instead.

The next morning, there are police cars at the office and the place had been robbed during the night! Dwight has of course already taken charge and has his little notepad out with all of his observations written down. He says it looks like the classic 7 man job, the security tapes were stolen, and possible motives were financial or vintage HP computer collectors. Holly puts it all together and asks to talk to Michael privately. She realizes that she never locked the door the night before when they left the office and Michael says he didn’t either. Michael’s great line after that is “so much for sex without consequences.”

Michael and Holly obviously feel really bad about what they let happen so Michael decides to hold an auction to raise money. They will auction off people’s talents and invite people from all over Scranton and call it Crime Aid. The two of them share a cute moment while talking to the camera about the auction and we find out that Michael "got" Holly twice the night before…

The auction is hilarious and is a classic Michael event! He makes many corny jokes while standing up in front of the microphone. Watching him struggle to talk fast like an auctioneer is extremely comical. The auction includes a yoga lesson from Holly, a trip to the bar with Darryl, Creed, Kevin offering to do someone’s taxes, the security guard’s CD of him playing guitar, a weekend at David Wallace’s place in Martha’s Vineyard, a hug from Phyllis, and fake Bruce Springsteen tickets.

David Wallace shows up to the auction and Ryan tries to hide from him. It is obviously not known that Ryan is back at Dunder Mifflin. Also, David sees Michael and Holly kiss at the very end of the episode and it is obviously not known that they are dating and you can tell he is upset.

Jim bid on the trip to the bar with Darryl and while they are out, Roy shows up and it is a little awkward at first. Roy asks how Pam is doing and Jim slowly tells him that they are engaged and Roy is actually genuinely happy for them. Or so it seems, until Jim is telling Roy about how Pam loves New York and was out with her friends until 8 a.m. the day before and Roy fires back, “I thought you were her friend.” It was so unnecessary and made me mad at Roy. At first I was really excited to see him again, but then the jerk side of him came out! I am so glad Pam got away from him!! Roy’s comment obviously got to Jim because we then see Jim driving to see Pam late that night. Luckily, Jim is an amazing guy and realizes that he’s not “that guy” who gets jealous and doesn’t trust his girlfriend so he makes a U-turn and drives back home.

While all of this is happening, there is a side story with Dwight, Phyllis, Angela, and Andy. Dwight gets a save-the-date for Angela and Andy’s wedding and Phyllis sees that he is upset and tries to talk to him about it. He will have nothing to do with her. But later in the day, he walks into the kitchen and pretends to get something out of the refrigerator, but ends up talking to Phyllis about how many amazing things Angela introduced him to, such as, pasteurized milk, sheets, monotheism, presents on your birthday, and preventative medicine. He reveals that he just doesn’t understand why she is marrying Andy, and Phyllis intelligently replies, “Angela’s not really a risk taker, and Andy’s not really a risk.” Dwight looks like he’s about to cry and then just shuts the fridge and tells Phyllis that her meal is really fattening! He later makes her get in the elevator with him and asks her how to get Angela back. She tells him to give her an ultimatum and make her choose between him and Andy. He gets off the elevator and leaves her on the wrong floor! He finally confronts Angela and tells her that she can either” dump that singing buffoon and apologize and start dating him, or she can say goodbye to this (as he points to his body).” He gives her until 6:14 to make up her mind. She chooses Andy and I still cannot believe it! There is no way the writers can let her marry Andy!

Favorite Moments:

  • Creed’s super creepy quote.”Nobody steals from Creed Bratton and gets away with it. The last person to do this disappeared. His name…Creed Bratton.”
  • Michael hitting the gavel at the auction and it making a squeaking sound
  • Anytime Michael and Holly are on camera together
  • Michael talking fast like an auctioneer and saying complete nonsense
  • Phyllis's hug going for $1,000
  • Jim getting to tell Roy that he is engaged to Pam
  • Dwight's list of things he learned from Angela
  • Phyllis smacking Dwight
What to look forward to in the next episode:
  • What will David Wallace do about Michael and Holly? It is supposedly Amy Ryan's (Holly's) last episode, she was only signed on to do 5. So will she be fired over this or transferred to another branch? And if so, why couldn't she and Michael keep dating? I hope she stays around!
  • Will we finally get to see Pam and Jim together again? I hope he honestly has nothing to be jealous of. I know Pam wouldn't do that to Jim, but I might be a little worried too.
  • Angela can't seriously marry Andy! I hope that Angela comes to her senses and gets back together with Dwight.
  • Will David Wallace say anything about Ryan working there? I know he had to have seen Ryan in the warehouse during the auction.
  • Will Jan find out that Michael and Holly are dating? I hope she doesn't ruin things!
  • When does Pam get done with school in New York?? I thought she was only supposed to be gone for 3 months and she's been gone since the second week of the summer!
Well, stay tuned!! I can't wait for the next episode! This season is going by really fast!

The Office Trivia Board Game

I was surfing NBC's website one day this past summer and looking at all of the Office merchandise that they have and I found a trivia board game!! I was so excited and automatically told my mom that we had to buy it and we ordered it right then and there. When it came, we played it at least 3 times that night. I had been expecting a fun game, but it was so much more intricate and detailed than I would have ever guessed! The goal is to race around the office and collect a Dundie from every room by answering a trivia question correctly in each room. You must also win the Fun Runs and end with all the Dundies AND the Support the Rabid bracelet!

You get to pick what character you want to be, and they don't just have the main characters, they have everyone you can think of! You cannot be Michael though, because his role is to slow you down by following you around and asking you questions about himself. So, you start by picking your character and then rolling the colored die. You then place your person in the room that is the same color as what you rolled and that is where you begin the game. The player who was born closest to Scranton, Pennsylvania gets to go first. There is also a "Support the Rabid" bracelet from the episode Fun Run and the person who owns the game gets to start off wearing it. Every player also receives a token that reads "That's What She Said" and you can use it during the game if someone makes a comment that could then be followed by "That's What She Said." The other players get to decide if it was worthy or not, and if you comment is approved, then you get a Dundie of your choice to help you win. This is how my mom won our first game...I said that one of the questions was really hard...and she got the last Dundie that she needed to win!

Whenever it is your turn, you roll the colored/numbered die and move that number of spaces to try to enter one of the rooms. Once you're in a room, you have to wait until your next turn to roll again and answer a question. You have to then roll the other die, which has the Dunder Mifflin logo and Michael's face on it. If you roll Michael's face, then he enters the room with you and you have to answer a question about him. If you get it right, then you get to move on to your normal trivia question. If you get it wrong, then you are stuck in that room until your next turn and you have to try again to answer one of his questions before you can move on. If you roll the logo, then you get to skip the Michael question and go right ahead and answer the trivia question.

As you race around to answer questions from every room and collect all the Dundies, you must also worry about landing on a Fun Run space and stealing the bracelet. If you land on Fun Run, all of the characters "race" by moving to one end of the board and taking turns rolling the die until someone gets to the end of the finish line first. So you could land on Fun Run but not necessarily get the bracelet. It's hard to worry about getting the bracelet and all of your Dundies, especially because the bracelet can get taken away from you so easily.
That's basically the premise of the game and it's a lot of fun and really fast-paced! There are also 2 questions on every trivia card, one of which is easier than the other, so even people who aren't obsessed with the show like me could have a lot of fun playing the game! The board is really colorful and fun and there are random spaces along the way that make you lose a turn or move you ahead while referring to different scenes from random episodes. For example, one space says "Jinx! You can't talk until your next turn!" The game covers seasons 1-4, so it is really current and I feel that anyone who has watched the show would love playing the game! There are 698 questions so you can play many times before getting repeat questions. There is also a DVD trivia game with clips from the show which I'm sure is also extremely fun! Check them out!

The Office: Baby Shower

Last week’s Office episode was back to its old form. It was hilarious from the first second and just never stopped moving! It didn’t disappoint me once and I never wanted it to end! The writing in this episode was perfection because it kept you guessing as to what would happen and it ended perfectly.

The main storyline in this episode was that Michael was having a baby shower for Jan in the office. The episode starts with Dwight pretending to be pregnant and Michael is practicing what he is going to do when Jan calls to say she’s in labor. Dwight has a watermelon strapped to his stomach and is talking about having contractions and his water breaking and all sorts of graphic things. Dwight then proceeds to have the “baby” and when it comes out, Michael is supposed to catch it and mark it with a sharpie so they know it’s theirs. When Michael goes to catch the watermelon, he drops it!! Dwight said he put butter on it to make it slippery like a baby. It is a perfect scene and had me laughing the entire time!

So we see Phyllis acting as the head of the Party Planning Committee again and bossing around Angela. The tension between them is great and whenever Michael says he doesn’t like something, Angela will softly tell him that it’s all Phyllis’s fault. Michael then goes to talk to Holly and tell her that Jan is coming in and that she is pregnant and very fat and since Holly is pretty, he is going to treat her meanly all day just so he won’t hurt Jan’s feelings. He says he is treating Ryan the same way as well. Michael’s not-so-secret crush on Ryan continues to grow even when he has Holly there!

Jan then enters the office….pushing a stroller! Turns out she had already given birth to Astrid (Michael thought the name was Astird) and decided not to tell Michael; she said her birthing instructor did not think it was a good idea. You find out there was some tension between Michael and the birthing instructor because Michael says the guy had no sense of humor. Michael is obviously upset and you feel so bad for him when you see his disheartened face. Jan allows him to hold the baby, but only while she’s still in her carrier of course. He then proceeds to introduce the baby to everyone in the office by holding her above his head in her carrier like they do with Simba in the Lion King.

The baby shower starts and Michael wants to play games. Kevin says the games are ruined because the baby is already born but Michael won’t have it. So Kevin asks everybody the question, “So when do you think the baby will be born?” The games obviously were a letdown so Jan starts singing a song to her baby about a person losing their virginity by a church for at least 20 minutes. Jim goes to call Pam to tell her about it but she is in a Laundromat and can’t hear a thing. They had been playing phone tag all day and you can just feel the tension between them as they wish they could be together already and not have to get upset over little things. They both just admit that they must be having one of the off days.

While Jan takes a nap, Michael is allowed to actually hold baby Astrid and when he holds her, he feels nothing. He finds this odd and goes to talk to Darryl, another “baby daddy”, who tells him he obviously doesn’t feel anything because it’s not his baby!! Jan leaves and asks Michael to do him one big favor…not to date Holly. Michael awkwardly tells her that he has no feelings for her but then goes inside to Holly and just holds her. Holly’s eyes tear up and as he pulls away, he asks her if she wants to go out! He tells the camera that he didn’t feel anything when he held the baby, but he definitely felt something when he held Holly. I cannot wait for this interesting relationship to start, even though it may be very short-lived since Amy Ryan is not supposed to be in the season for too many more episodes.

It ends with Pam and Jim calling each other at the same time and so they get each other’s voicemail and leave a message. It is so sweet because they are talking about the same exact things in their messages and it goes back and forth between the two of them so it makes it seem like they’re having a conversation. The main thing I love about this show is that the writers keep it so close to real life and don’t necessarily try to please the viewers. They will make you feel mad at Jim or Michael or whoever, but they are just making it out like it would happen in real life. Any two people who were in a long-distance relationship would have their off days and it no matter how much we know that Michael should be with Holly instead of Jan, it would be hard for someone to figure that out on their own after everything they’d been through with that other person.

Favorite quotes/moments in the episode:

  • Dwight: “I’m crowning!"

  • Michael: “Andy, would you like to have my baby instead?”

  • Michael dropping the watermelon and then eating it while Dwight puts his pants back on right next to him

  • Andy thinking that Phyllis’s baby picture is Angela’s

  • Stanley rubbing his nipples

  • Dwight: “Jan had the baby and Michael wasn’t there to mark it so the baby could be anybody’…except for Michael’s.”

  • Michael’s face when he realizes the baby’s name is Astrid, not Astird

  • Clips of Michael holding other people’s babies…so cute!

  • Dwight testing the baby stroller by trying to destroy it

  • Jan sprawled out sleeping on the couch

  • Michael holding Holly and asking her out

This has definitely been my favorite episode so far and I cannot wait for more to come! If you haven’t seen it yet, you should definitely watch it now! I hope you enjoy!

Review: Eagle Eye

I have been excited for this movie ever since the previews came out so I rushed out to see it the moment I could. I was expecting an action packed thriller full of suspense and twists and I was not disappointed. The beginning of the movie did throw me off a little bit though, because it was kind of slow getting started and actually somewhat sad. I felt like I waited for the action to start for awhile, but once it did, it never stopped!

Shia LaBeouf does a great job in this movie as a kid who has left home and stepped away from his family to live his own life and then suddenly has his twin brother die, which devastates him, and then starts to get threatening phone calls and has to all of a sudden risk his life for some unknown reason. It is amazing to watch him move from action sequences to emotional moments with such ease. Michelle Monaghan plays a single mom who starts receiving the same phone calls as Jerry Shaw (Shia LaBeouf) which threaten her son’s safety unless she cooperates. Eventually the two of them meet up and find themselves caught in a tangled web, taking directions from a stranger and having no control over what happens. They receive directions from electronic signs in the city and stranger’s cell phones and traffic lights change for them as needed; someone is watching them at every moment and controlling not only them, but everything around them.

I recommend this movie to anyone who loves suspense and twists and car chases and plenty of action. It definitely will not disappoint you!

****Warning: Spolier Alert****

My heart never stopped pounding during all the suspense and it didn’t stop even through the end. The plot unfolds and it turns out to be the computer who is trying to change the government and it is all a plan to kill off the top 12 people (president, vice president, etc.). I kind of didn’t like the fact that it was another one of those movies where the computer becomes smarter than the people, but it was different enough then all those movies because it had a little more plot and twists and details. At the end, Shia LaBeouf gets shot and he should obviously be dead but then he is alive at the end of the movie and receives the Medal of Honor. I heard a lot of people complaining about how he survived being shot multiple times and then just being alive at the end without an explanation. But before he gets shot, he takes out a security guard and puts on his uniform so I assumed that he also put on the security guard’s bullet proof vest and I believe that is how he survived.

The Office: Business Ethics

The opening was great in this episode! Pam reveals to Jim that she is angry at everyone in the office because none of them had called her to congratulate her on their engagement. Jim bashfully tells her that he hadn’t told any of them yet so he puts her on speaker phone and makes the announcement to everyone. The reactions are nothing but unenthused and somewhat insulting. Oscar says he thought they were already engaged and Angela points out that she had been engaged to Roy before, not Jim. Kevin also finds it necessary to point out to Jim that Pam is not a virgin. Jim’s face during all of this makes it obvious that he knew this would happen when he told them and that’s why he’d waited so long. But of course Michael walks in as they are all discussing this and he finds out the great news and tackles Jim!! The scene is nothing short of perfection because you see Jim in the middle of the screen and all of a sudden Michael is pushing him out of the frame and you see them go down together right as the theme song starts.

The first scene is a big moment in The Office history because Michael does one of his song parodies with another person: Holly!! Holly is to give her first presentation at the office and it is about ethics because of Ryan’s little run-in with the law while he was at corporate. Her and Michael start some music and walk into the conference room singing “Let’s Get Ethical” while wearing headbands and dancing something that they had obviously choreographed and practiced. There is a cut scene to Jim’s face during the song and it is of him smiling and nodding with approval; it made the scene even more perfect. But when they are finished and Holly starts to give her presentation, tension breaks out in the conference room. It is much unexpected because when she enters the room singing with Michael, you feel like she is going to have a great relationship with everyone but as she starts to speak and just read from the book, everyone starts to realize that they like the way Michael does things. They like the songs and dances and ridiculous seminars that he makes up; they don’t like the reading straight from the corporate binder. Michael tries to help her out and tell her that “this is a tough crowd. They expect humor and sudden twists and surprise endings.” He then proceeds to tell everyone they have immunity and asks them what unethical things they have done in the office. Meredith says that she sleeps with someone to get discounts and Outback Steakhouse coupons. Holly is very concerned, whereas Michael finds it hilarious.

Michael and Holly attempt to go out to lunch and figure out what to do about Meredith and we see the first conflict between them. Michael talks about the office being like a big family and how they have to take care of each other and he just wants to forget the whole thing ever happened. Holly, on the other hand, thinks they have to follow the rules and report her to corporate. This makes Michael so angry that he avoids her for almost the rest of the day. There are very funny scenes with him not giving her any coffee when she enters the break room and him running to get to the copier before she does even though he has nothing to copy. She tries to report Meredith to corporate but they tell her that the company is in a tough place right now and could use the discount and so they are just going to sweep it under the rug and pretend it didn’t happen. The HR rep from corporate tells her that she is just supposed to get signatures from everyone in the office saying they went through the seminar and he really puts her down and makes her feel like she can’t do her job. But she is also obviously thinking about if she wants to stay with this company or not because of their views on ethics.

During all of this, Jim starts to record everything that Dwight does during the day because Dwight swears that he never steals any company time like taking extra time for lunch or making any personal phone calls. Dwight does not leave his desk for anything that day, he even pees at his desk, but he then mysteriously disappears for 19 minutes and 48 seconds. We see Angela buttoning her shirt when they come back and we know where he’s been! Jim asks him if it is really ethical for him to use that much personal time during work and Dwight just looks at the camera with his mischievous grin and we know the he realizes what he’s doing with Angela is unethical.

I was a little disappointed with this episode because I wanted a little more from it. The only real story line was with Holly and Michael having conflicting opinions on the Meredith situation. I just wanted to see more of the other characters. But it was an important episode because it shows us the start of Holly disagreeing with how Dunder Mifflin does things and we can see why she might end up leaving within a few episodes, because she is only supposed to be on the show for maybe 3 more. I can’t wait for the next one and I hope we see more of Jim and Pam engaged! And maybe find out more about Angela and Andy’s wedding, I can’t imagine she’ll go through with it! But we will find out!

I Love Money Season Finale

I haven't had a chance to watch every episode of I Love Money, but from the few that I saw, I loved it because the characters and the drama become so addicting! I usually hate reality shows but the ones on VH1 somehow keep my interest. Seeing the Rock of Love and Flavor of Love girls and the I Love New York guys all together was a brilliant idea for a show! They are all so over the top and obnoxious but yet wildly entertaining.

This finale was nothing but surprising. The final four competed and it resulted in Whiteboy eliminating Real. Real was pissed off and started yelling and fighting with Whiteboy and then the host of the show told Real that it wasn't over for him yet, he got to stay around for a little bit longer. Real became part of a jury along with a few other members who had been kicked off on previous episodes. They all got to choose the last person who would be going home out of the final three. I love how these types of shows always throw in twists near the end. And I'm glad they do because it keeps you on your toes.

But just before the jury could even decide anything, Megan quits the show and willingly lets them void her check for 250 million dollars! She said she would rather quit than have them vote her off even though she didn't know for sure if they would choose her! The show just kept getting more and more intriguing. So the final two were Hoopz and Whiteboy. Now, I love Hoopz! I think she is naturally pretty, unlike some of the other girls, and smart and very athletic and talented! And Whiteboy is alright, but the way he talks just bothers me so much! It makes him seem so dumb, but he is very athletic and talented as well. So seeing the two of them in the final challenge was enjoyable. The challenge had many parts to it and never stopped! It was very physically challenging so it was a good thing that they were the final two. I don't think Megan would have been able to finish it. I don't want to ruin the ending for you by telling you who wins or revealing too much about the final challenge, but I would definitely recommend watching it! I'm sure they will re-run every day and night for the next few weeks! Or you can always watch it here online!!

Indiana Jones...5?

As a dedicated movie fan, there are certain movies that you just “have” to be familiar with. Star Wars and The Godfather films are on this list of “must-sees” as are the Indiana Jones films. George Lucas originally created the character in homage to the action heroes of the 1930’s, and the first Indiana Jones film, Raiders of the Lost Ark, was released in 1981. The film, set in 1936, was followed by the 1935-set prequel “Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom,” which was then followed by the 1938-set “Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.”

Then, nineteen years later, in 2008, another Indiana Jones was released. “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” was released on May 22, 2008 to somewhat mixed reception. Although Rotten Tomatoes reported that 77% of critics gave the film a positive review, most reviews could best be described as “respectful, but far from glowing.” This is where things get tricky, as I am a huge Indiana Jones fan. Raiders of the Lost Ark is defiantly one of my favorite movies, and the whole trilogy serves as a source of inspiration, so naturally I was a bit skeptical when I heard that Indy would be coming back after nearly twenty years.

Normally, such a thing wouldn’t have bothered me, but after seeing what Lucas had done with the Star Wars prequels (especially Attack of the Clones, quite possibly the bane of my existence) I had my doubts. Fortunately however, “Crystal Skull” opened and provided exactly what I was looking for, Indiana Jones in another throwback adventure. Nostalgia kicked in and I was a kid again, watching Indy get himself into ridiculous situation after ridiculous situation. Apparently though, those ridiculous situations Indy got himself into this time around proved to be a little too ridiculous for some fans.

“Crystal Skull” was ripped apart by many die-hard and purist fans, with main points of criticism being Shia Labeouf swinging in trees with monkeys, Indy surviving a nuclear blast simply by hiding in a fridge, and the whole alien plot in general. The refrigerator incident even inspired the phrase “nuked the fridge” to point out a spot in a movie series when it finally passes it’s peak and crosses into absurdity (similar to the phrase “jumping the shark.”)

As much as I enjoyed the new installment of the Indy series, after reading all of the negative buzz from critics and fans alike, I was sure I had seen the end of Dr. Jones’ adventures. However, I apparently failed to account for the power of the almighty dollar.

That’s right, after nearly $800 million in worldwide box office, and many more millions expected when the DVD is released, a fifth Indiana Jones movie is being considered. Harrison Ford talked to the L.A. Times revealing “George Lucas is in think mode right now,” about another installment.

George Lucas, the mind who brought Attack of the Clones, is thinking of where to take Indy next. If that sentence didn’t induce panic attacks then I don’t know what will. This is both literally and ironically a battle between one of my favorite movies, and one of my most despised. Now I did enjoy “The Phantom Menace,” and I found fan boy glee when I watched Anakin take the turn to the dark side in “Revenge of the Sith” but I can find almost no redeeming qualities when it comes to “Attack of the Clones” (and believe me, I’ve tried.)

After hours of deep thought, and the realization that no matter how much I disliked Attack of the Clones, it won’t stop George Lucas from doing more projects (maybe writing some letters would help), I came to the conclusion that another Indy film would be more than welcome in my book.

I could defend almost every point of criticism of “Crystal Skull” simply by pointing out what makes me love the Indy franchise in the first place, they’re a throwback to the hay-day of action movies and Indiana Jones is one of the old fashioned American Heroes, and one of the most iconic figures in American Film. So whether or not another Indiana Jones film actually comes to fruition, I’ll be ready either way.

Sex and the City: The Movie

I’ve been a huge fan of the TV show Sex and the City for the past few years. And I mean the true HBO version, not the re-runs on TBS or anything. I fell in love with the show just after watching the first few episodes and I was ecstatic when I found out they were making a movie!! So I had very high expectations for the movie, and I definitely was not disappointed! I ended up seeing it in theaters three times!
Right away, the movie starts with a very short recap of the seasons and the way they did it was incredible. It wasn’t too long; it really just highlighted the main parts. It showed chapters from books she’d written in the past few years and clips from the old episodes. It was really creative and the music was girly and sexy and the background was black and pink and glamorous. It fit the show perfectly.
The movie covered everything and had so many twists and turns and you really didn’t know what was going to happen in the end. Each character was back with their own story line: Carrie is still with Big and searching for an apartment, Miranda is trying to handle her life as a mother, wife and lawyer, Samantha is off in L.A. with Smith, and Charlotte is happy with her husband and adopted daughter. But things don’t necessarily stay great for all of them throughout the movie. Carrie’s search for an apartment leads to hopes of marriage, which may not end up being exactly what she thought it would be. Miranda gets some disturbing news from Steve, and Samantha is not exactly happy with her new life away from all of her friends. Charlotte, on the other hand, is in marital bliss and finds herself getting even more good news during the movie!
I loved the other guest appearances of the minor characters from the show such as Carrie’s best friend Stanford Blatch, Charlotte’s friend and wedding planner Anthony Marentino, and Vogue editor Enid Frick. I also adored Jennifer Hudson as a new character and thought she and Carrie had great chemistry! And let me just say that I LOVED Carrie’s hair when she dyed it dark brown!! It looked fabulous on her!
The movie made me cry just as often as it made me laugh and I really wouldn’t have changed a thing about it. It kept its wit and humor and drama and stayed true to the TV show. It was great to see the group back together and still looking fabulous in their designer clothes and having the amazing chemistry on the big screen just as they did on the show!
